Hello! My name is Rachel!

I've been a deviant here for five years.

I will be pursuing a degree at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) on a small scholarship in the fall. I'm considering getting a B.F.A. in sequential art, but I want to dip my toes in what I can before declaring a major.

I love comics, animation, visual effects, fashion, painting, photography, filming, video editing, illustration, sculpture, and various other art forms. I'm more interested in Western comics and animation than manga and anime.

I took three art classes in high school (Art I, Art II Drawing, and Art II Scuplture/Ceramics) and I attended 2 hour private instruction for 6 months.

I am a Certified Apple Pro in Final Cut Pro 6 - Level One.

Outside of art, I am interested in science and technology. I love new gadgets and I was a member of my high school's FIRST (For Inspiration Recognition and Technology) Robotics Team, Team 624 CRyptonite.

My camera broke, and for those who do not know what my camera looks like, it is a very nice Sony Cybershot DSC H5 [link]

My camera is one of my most prized possessions, and I use it on a daily basis. Not only do I use it to record my own life, my friends, and family, but I also use it for artistic photography, and taking photos of my art work to post online, to use to for my digital portfolio (and to save an image of my art work if god forbid something happens to it), and so I can send Work-In Progress images to my clients. Most of my work won't fit on my scanner or the scanners at Kinko's, hence why I use my camera so much.

All that happened was that the shutter button broke off. However, the cheapest price for a repair is $120 (Sony was going to charge more). The reason it costs so much is because repairmen just can't replace the shutter button - they have to replace the entire top plate of the camera. So far, $120 is amount I had saved up for my SCAD savings, and it really chaps my ass that the money I've been working hard for to pay for school is going to have to go to an over-priced repair.

Please help me out by buying commissions! Even very small commissions help! Every little bit counts! I have updated my commission journal - half of the types of commissions now have fixed prices, while the other half is still individually determined.

I will gladly create other items not listed in my journal. I will create bookmarks, paint furniture, walls, or take photos when my camera is fixed. I'm sure you can think of something for me to do that is not listed in my journal. Logos, posters, anything.

Please help me out!

Hey there! Thanks for all the love :) Much appreciated. Also, were you in one of my Summer Seminar sessions? If so, you are awesome and if not, you are still awesome and you should definitely join the dark side--and by dark side I mean the sequential department :D

Hm, I'm not sue. I forgot which week I did at the Seminar. I think it was the second one, but this was last year.

I'm torn between Animation and Sequential, but hopefully it will sway me again like it did last year :D
Thank you very much for the fav.
